Diyar awards Bahrain housing project

Manama, May 11, 2014

Bahrain-based Diyar Homes Company has awarded the construction contract for the second phase of its affordable housing project located in Diyar Al Muharraq to Al Hedaya Construction.

As per the deal, Al Hedaya will construct 196 affordable housing units targeted at Bahraini families in Diyar Al Muharraq, a major mixed-use urban development in Bahrain which is designed to become a complete city that harbours all essential services.

An agreement was signed in this connection by Hisham Al Moayed, the general Manager of Diyar Homes and Jawad Alawi, the deputy general manager of Al Hedaya Construction, at the recent Gulf Property Show, which was organised by Bahrain-based Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions (HCE).

Al Moayed said: "We was pleased to award this contract to Al Hedaya Construction due to their wide experience in the construction of big projects, especially as they are one of the companies that worked on phase one which makes them well positioned to meet the high specifications of the units and complete the project within the required timeframe."

Jawad Alawi described Diyar Homes project as one of the leading projects in the region and said he was happy to be part of it and contribute towards its success.

Diyar Homes launched the second phase of its affordable housing project last December which consists of 196 villas. The villas are designed to satisfy all requirements of Bahraini families and range from 3 to 5 bedrooms.

All villas have an open hall, maids quarter, two kitchens and garage space for two cars.

Located off the eastern coast of Muharraq island, the project is expected to play a major role in Bahrain's future development.-TradeArabia News Service
