Sabic awards design contract for new office complex

Sabic, the world's biggest petrochemicals group by market value, has awarded a contract to Henning Larsen Architects for designing its new office building in Jubail area of the kingdom.
The letter of award was signed by Omar A. Al-Amoudi, the Sabic Shared Services executive VP and Jacop Kurek, the international projects partner, at a function held in Jubail recently.
As per the agreement, Henning Larsen Architects will be responsible for the conceptual, basic and detailed engineering of the new Sabic main building at the New City Center in Jubail Industrial City.
Commenting on the project, Al-Amoudi said, “The new building will be built with contemporary architectural designs and engineering standards, anticipating and meeting our future needs. Its eco-friendly design will provide a healthy and natural work environment to meet the requirements of our growing number of employees, who are our future, and on whom we rely for the smooth running of our day-to-day operations.”
He said that the building will provide offices and facilities for administrative staff and management over an area of 6.64 hectares. “We expect it to be a major landmark in the Jubail Industrial City.”
The engineering phase of the project is planned to be completed by the first quarter of 2016 and the overall project completion is expected by 2019.-TradeArabia News Service
