Pearl-Qatar bags top Cityscape awards

Doha, June 10, 2014

United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar, took home two accolades at the recent Cityscape Qatar Awards held on the margin of the Cityscape exhibition.

UDC won Best Commercial & Mixed Use Project for its flagship development, as well as the Best Residential Project award in recognition of The Pearl-Qatar’s position as the best residential and lifestyle destination in Qatar.

The company was also shortlisted for Best Leisure & Tourism Project for the development of an Island considered by many to be one of the most recognized landmarks of modern Qatar; and Best Retail Project which has redefined how commercial spaces are both designed and operated.

The awards were accepted by Ali Al-Malki, public relations manager and Ehab Kamel, general manager of Retail Leasing who both confirmed that the achievements were clearly in recognition of the innovative nature of The Pearl-Qatar and that the development could not have been possible without the strategic vision and collaborative leadership given by UDC investors and top executives.

“Qatar is a truly unique country where enterprise and innovation have been encouraged to flourish. UDC is proud to be able to contribute to the development of this great nation and winning awards such as these is a validation that we are on the right path,” Al-Malki said.

Extending over an approximate area of four million square meters, The Pearl-Qatar is one of the largest real estate development projects in the Arabian Gulf. This year, UDC’s stand at Cityscape is showcasing residential and commercial offerings in four of the Island’s most vibrant districts namely Porto Arabia, Medina Centrale, Qanat Quartier and Abraj Quartier.
