Aldar housing projects win UAE quality rating

Abu Dhabi, June 22, 2014

Aldar Properties, a leading property development, investment and management company, said two of its national housing projects - Al Sila’a and Al Raha national housing - have won two Pearl Construction rating from Estidama Pearl Villa Rating System (PVRS).

Established in 2009 by The Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC), the Estidama Pearl Ratings System aims at providing guidance and criteria to assess the level of sustainability in the design, construction and operation of communities, buildings and villas.

The UPC’s policy states that a minimum of One Pearl rating is required for all new projects to receive approval from the planning and permitting authorities in Abu Dhabi, while government-funded buildings must achieve a minimum of a Two Pearl Construction Rating.

The system is part of the Estidama programme which falls under the requirements of Abu Dhabi's Vision 2030 to preserve the Emirate's unique culture and environment.

Fahad Al Ketbi, the COO at Aldar Properties said: "This important rating demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the sustainable development of Abu Dhabi, and the rapid progress of its real estate sector. It also fits with our strategy to create quality living places while enhancing the lifestyle of UAE nationals."

"We look forward to continuing to work with the Abu Dhabi government in implementing the Vision 2030," he added.

Al Raha national housing, located opposite Al Raha Beach, was the first development to be offered to UAE Nationals in Abu Dhabi on an ownership basis. The development incorporates 136 villas and includes a kindergarten, community retail and dining outlets, already running and serving the community.

Al Sila’a is a master-planned community designed for UAE nationals in Sila'a Al Gharbia area, in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi.

The development, which consists of 448 luxury villas, was built in-line with UPC’s Estidama sustainability guidelines and the Plan Al Gharbia 2030. It is planned to include four mosques, a school, a women’s centre and a wide range of retail outlets. -TradeArabia News Service
