Bahrain plans 2 multi-storey car parks at suq

Two massive multi-storey parks accommodating 2,000 cars are to be built at Muharraq Suq in Bahrain.
 
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa yesterday (June 24) ordered work to start on the project as he paid a surprise visit to the suq, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
 
The huge buildings will cover 10,000 sq m.
 
The Premier also gave directives to relocate Muharraq Post Office to a new site adjacent to Bahrain International Airport and exploit its present location for service facilities.
 
He assigned the ministries of finance, transportation, municipalities and urban planning to undertake a feasibility study.
 
He directed demarcation of the zones which will have priority in development programmes in Muharraq, also affirming the government's resolve to reconstruct blaze-hit parts of the suq for affected traders to resume their activities soon. 
 
He reiterated a firm resolve to continue development projects for the benefit of citizens. - TradeArabia News Service
