426 new homes get green light in UAE

ABU DHABI, September 10, 2014

A UAE presidential committee has given the green light for the construction of 426 houses for Emirati citizens.

Acting on the directives of the UAE President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the follow-up committee approved a total of 897 homes for UAE nationals in various emirates across the country.

In addition to the construction of 426 new houses, 92 homes which have been already built will be handed over to citizens in the emirates of Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Umm Al Quwain.

The committee also approved the provision of 87 “replacement houses” and allocated another 292 homes for the disabled, widows and others “in urgent need of housing” according to the official WAM news agency.

Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister for Presidential Affairs and chairman of the committee, said the housing projects are being followed up by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, to ensure that the houses, services and facilities meet the needs of citizens.
