Tower Light ..... winning big orders in Qatar.

Tower Light wins Qatar Rail contract

DOHA, October 8, 2014

Tower Light, a leading Italy-based manufacturer of commercial lighting towers, said it has won a contract to supply a fleet of its VT8 lighting sets for the Qatar Rail Development Programme (QRDP) project.

Tower Light, which is part of the US-based Generac Power Systems Group, manufactures the world’s largest range of lighting towers for the rental, construction, mining, rail, airport and event industries.

The company has secured a number of new orders in Qatar through its distributor Mannai Corporation.

The lighting sets aim to ensure safety of workers on the construction site of Doha Metro Rail Station, an integral part of QRDP, said Tower Light in a statement.

The VT8 was developed to operate in arduous environments such as humid or tropical areas with an individually-designed whisper-quiet canopy, protected by a toughened, treated surface and safe lockable doors, it stated.

It features a strengthened 75-litre capacity metal fuel tank, which delivers more than 30 hours of continuous operation between refuelling and on-site stability ensured via three fully adjustable stabilisers.

Wide, bright and dependable illumination coverage, Tower Light said, is delivered through four 1,000-watt metal halide lamps fitted to a manually operated, eight-metre vertical mast, with a safe auto braking system and a 340-degree rotation.

The QRDP consists of a two-phase metro network, a light rail transit system and a long distance passenger and freight rail network.

Qatar Rail has awarded $32 billion in contracts to date with the aim of delivering one of the most sophisticated rail networks in the Middle East region.-TradeArabia News Service
