Experts to discuss transparency in Kuwait real estate

KUWAIT, November 2, 2014

Leading players from the real estate industry across the Middle East region will be in Kuwait for a key industry summit  which aims to bring transparency to local real estate industry.

The Kuwait Real Estate Summit, to be held from December 7 to 8, provides a platform for the regional real estate industry to share knowledge, debate current issues, and form partnerships with policy makers, regional and international investors, business leaders, and real estate professionals.

It will be held as part of the Cityscape Kuwait, a premier international real estate investment and development event, at  the Kuwait International Fairgrounds.

The summit will tackle vital topics related to the industry and will look to bring transparency to a local market that is set for increased development, said the event organisers.

The key topics under spotlight will be those related to regulatory challenges, financing for projects, laws related to mortgages, and investment strategies.

The summit features industry leading speakers from Kuwait and overseas imparting their experience for the benefit of the large expected audience, they added.

One of the key speakers at the event, Samuel Sidiqi, the CEO/ National Real Estate Company (NREC), highlighted the importance of knowledge-rich events such as the Kuwait Real Estate Summit.

"It is important that all the stakeholders of Kuwait come together and build a joint understanding about the direction that Kuwait should take in terms of development," said Sidiqi.

"Development problems are not something that any one group can solve by itself, you need to bring developers, regulators and community members together and get them aligned to find the right solutions. An activity like the Cityscape Kuwait Summit is a great start to bringing the different participants in the development conversation together," he added.

Sidiqi’s presentation will focus on the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and how the ULI framework can help Kuwait.

The Urban Land Institute provides leadership in the responsible use of land and in creating and sustaining thriving communities worldwide. It is an independent global nonprofit organization supported by members representing the entire spectrum of real estate development and land use disciplines.

NREC, he stated, has participated in multiple Cityscape events throughout the region, and recognises the impact and influence an event based in Kuwait can have on the industry. "We are excited to see that Cityscape is coming to Kuwait, and we look forward to see it grow in the coming years," observed Sidiqi.

Deep Marwaha, the group director of Informa, co-organisers of Cityscape Kuwait, dubbed the summit as an unique opportunity to bring together decision makers to debate and discuss the challenges and opportunities within the industry.

"It is the premier professional education conference for the Kuwait real estate industry. Co-located with the largest real estate exhibition ever held in the country, the entire Cityscape Kuwait event will provide the real estate and investment community with a comprehensive experience," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
