Aramco gets plot to build stadium in Madinah

RIYADH, November 18, 2014

Oil company Saudi Aramco has been given a site in Madinah covering an area of 2.7 million sq m to build a stadium as per the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, a report said.

Aramco will issue all the necessary documents for the architectural plans and complete the other requirements for the project, Khalid Abdulqadir, Mayor of Madinah, was quoted as saying in the Arab News report.

Aramco has been directed to build 11 stadiums by King Abdullah. The stadiums will be constructed in the Madinah region, Eastern Province, Northern Border Province, Hail, Tabuk, Al Jouf, Baha, Najran, Jazan, Asir and Qassim.

As per instructions from King Abdullah, the stadiums will be built according to international standards along the lines of the King Abdullah Sports City (KASC) in Jeddah.
