Mubadala and Four Seasons officials cement the last pillar of Four
Seasons Hotel.

Mubadala completes Four Seasons topping work

ABU DHABI, December 20, 2014

Mubadala, a leading investment and development company based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts, said the structural work of its upcoming property has been completed and was on track for 2016 opening on Al Maryah Island.

Four Seasons Hotel and Resorts is the operator of Abu Dhabi’s first Four Seasons hotel that complements residential, leisure and commercial offerings in the emirate’s central business district, said a statement from Mubadala which has master-planned the project.

The Abu Dhabi company is developing the Al Maryah Island, an integrated, 114-hectare mixed-use development at the centre of the UAE capital.

The island has been designated as Abu Dhabi’s Central Business District, modelled on the world’s leading mixed-use 24-hour financial districts.

The last concrete pillar on the roof of the five-star establishment was cemented at a ceremony witnessed by Waleed Al Mokarrab Al Muhairi, the deputy group chief executive and CEO of Emerging Sectors at Mubadala, Ali Eid AlMheiri, the executive director, Mubadala Real Estate & Infrastructure, along with Simon Casson, the regional vice president and general manager Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.

On completion, the 34-floor hotel will consist of 190 hotel guestrooms, 54 serviced apartments, 1,290 sq m of meeting and conference facilities, along with a rooftop pool and 300 sq m garden looking over Al Maryah Island’s waterfront promenade.

Al Mheiri said the Four Seasons Abu Dhabi was another important component of Al Maryah Island’s already dynamic offering.

"Located next to the central office buildings and The Galleria, and near to Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, as well as new developments such as Al Maryah Central, the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi will be ideally situated for its guests to enjoy the best that Al Maryah Island has to offer," he noted.

With structural elements in place and a grand opening on target for the second quarter of 2016, the Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi now moves forward with the completion of the façade and internal components to the hotel, he added.

Casson said the upcoming hotel will set a new standard in hospitality, combining elegant and spacious accommodation with five-star facilities in an architecturally stunning building.-TradeArabia News Service
