Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has boosted its energy efficiency in aluminium production with the addition of a new air compressor to its existing fleet in the utilities wing of the power and utilities department, the company said.

The new unit has been installed with an aim to cater to the growing demand for compressed air to match aluminium 'production creep' targets, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

“The installation of the new unit is in line with Alba's commitment to efficiency and the company continually endeavours to upgrade its systems to ensure enhanced productivity,” the company's director for power and utilities Amin Sultan said.

“We implemented this project in-house where the cost was optimised by the packaging of contracts to optimum level, and not opting for a turnkey project,” he added. - TradeArabia News Service
