GCC railway project focus for summit

MUSCAT, December 24, 2014

The GCC Railway Project - a multi-billion-dollar, 2,177-km line linking GCC countries from Kuwait to Oman - will be on the agenda for a major conference set to take place next month in Muscat, Oman.

The first-ever GCC Railway and Metro Conference will be held on January 11 and 12 at Al Bustan Palace Muscat.

Themed a ‘Vision for Sustainable Development’, the conference will be attended by more than 500 high-ranking government officials and top representatives from the region’s fast-growing railway and metro industry.

Attendees are set to share details of important progress on the development of the GCC Railway project as well as delve deep into key issues, challenges and related opportunities for private sector entities.

This, in turn, will further strengthen GCC economies by fostering trade and bolstering social integration amongst GCC member states through an improved understanding of localised practices for sustainable growth and development. – TradeArabia News Service
