Al Binfalah receiving the British Safety Council certificate.

Bahrain Airport Company unit gets HSE certification

MANAMA, February 11, 2015

Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) said its facility management unit has received the official membership certificate from British Safety Council, one of the world’s leading health, safety and environmental organisation.

BAC was established in 2008 with the mandate of developing and managing the operations and commercial aspects of the Bahrain International Airport.

This is an endorsement of the FM unit's commitment to maintain international health & safety standards across BAC operations, said BAC FM chairman Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah after receiving the certificate.

This venerated association with the British Safety Council provides the FM unit with a valuable resource and allows the company access to a set of information, training, benchmarking and support tools to facilitate its efforts in the implementation of a comprehensive Safety Management System, he added.

"Health, safety and environmental (HSE) matters are a top priority in our industry and form a significant component of our day-to-day operations," stated Ather Ahmed Osmani, the manager of Quality Health, Safety and Environment at BAC FM.

The company is continuously seeking new and innovative ways to stay ahead of global HSE developments and keep staff informed and updated, explained Osmani.

"Membership to the British Safety Council is a further step in strengthening our HSE processes and enables us to benchmark our safety performance against global standards and practices," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
