Arabtec to start work on Egypt housing project

CAIRO, February 23, 2015

UAE-based builder Arabtec will start signing up Egyptian companies for its ambitious residential project that will see the development of one million housing units across the country, said a report.

The work on the first phase of the mammoth project is likely to start in the middle of 2015,  reported the amwalalghad.

Implementing the first phase of the project entails the construction of 120,000 units and associated services in three locations: El Obour City, Badr City, and New Minya City, stated the report, citing an official source from the contractors’ federation.

In cooperation with the Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC), the local joint venture partner SIAC Industrial Construction and Engineering Company will finalise the list of Egyptian construction firms that will take part in first phase of Arabtec’s project in Egypt, the report stated.

SIAC will announce the finalised list after the March economic summit, it added.
