Event to feature....sustainable new products and innovations

Focus on green technology in construction industry

MANAMA, March 26, 2015

Cutting edge environmentally friendly technology in construction will be in focus at an upcoming industry show in Bahrain.

Revolutionary 3D printing, the challenge of super-tall buildings and state-of-the-art fire-fighting systems will be among the more than 200 brands and services on show during the fourth edition of the Arabian MEP (Mechanical Engineering Plumbing) Conference and Exhibition, being held at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre from April 6 to 8, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

Organised by Exposure Media, Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Minister Essam Khalaf will patronise the show, highlighting Bahrain and the region's promotion of green energy technologies as well as issues concerning environmental sustainability.

"Besides, there will be participants from around the region and beyond, presenting latest technologies and products being used in the construction industry worldwide," company managing director Sijo Joseph said.

"Seminars, workshops and open discussions during the event will focus on the latest technologies in green buildings and their implementation in the construction industry in this part of the world."

Khalid Al Mulhim from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) - Saudi Arabian Chapter - will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony, in the presence of Mr Khalaf.

"The Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Ministry will use the event to showcase its present and future projects as well as honour its engineers," said Mr Joseph.

"A special section on the latest energy efficient electrical products will be one of the highlights of the show, which will also feature iPad draws on all three days."

He said higher energy efficiency, green products and sustainable technologies that have accelerated the pace at which new products and innovations are launched in the market will feature at the event, billed as a gathering of professionals and experts from the HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) industry.

Spread over an area of 8,000 square metres, the event is expected to bring together around 6,500 engineers and decision-makers who will discuss the latest trends in the industry and application of green and environmentally-friendly technologies.

"As a leading show for MEP and HVAC industry, the Arabian MEP stands behind quality manufacturers certified for their socially responsible practices in labour, fair trade and low carbon footprint," said Mr Joseph.

"We support sustainable methods and environmentally responsible practices with all of our partners and our core objective is to promote the most advanced equipment and technology that will help to drive the future of Middle East economy in the MEP market."

He said the event will focus on boosting the markets and promote quality and sustainability in the services offered.

Joseph said the event is built on the solid foundations of the previous successfully hosted events.

Business deals worth $500 million were concluded during the last two shows, which were attended by more than 10,000 visitors.
