UAE contractor Al Shafar wins top CSR award
DUBAI, April 1, 2015
Al Shafar General Contracting Company (ASGC), a leading UAE construction group, said it has won the prestigious corporate social responsibility (CSR) label by the Dubai Chamber for responsible business.
The Dubai Chamber CSR Label is tailored to the Middle East region and is based on international standards and best practice.
It is awarded to select UAE companies following an assessment which includes comprehensive audit and site visits.
This rigorous selection process confirms that a potential award winner is fully committed to the principals of CSR across four key areas: community, marketplace, workforce, and environment.
Founded in 1989 in Dubai, ASGC provides turnkey general contracting solutions across a range of market sectors, including residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, leisure, infrastructure, and oil and gas.
In addition to undertaking large-scale construction projects, ASGC also offers a number of related construction products and services, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services and steel structure, readymix concrete and precast products, as well as interior fit-outs through a number of subsidiaries.
ASGC's chief executive Bishoy Azmy received the award from Hamad Buamim, the president and chief executive of Dubai Chamber at a recent ceremony held in Dubai.
Commenting on the award, Azmy said: "The ASGC team is delighted to be awarded the CSR Label. With a 25-year history in the construction industry across the UAE and the wider region, we are committed to conducting business with all our key stakeholders with the highest levels of professionalism and integrity."
"As we continue our growth momentum into new sectors and markets, we remain focused on supporting our brand’s reputation for both reliability and quality," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
