Strong Turkish presence at this year’s Cityscape Abu Dhabi.

Turkish developers out in force at Cityscape

DUBAI, April 1, 2015

Leading real estate developers from Turkey will be in the UAE capital to showcase their residential and commercial projects at the Cityscape Abu Dhabi expo which opens this month.

According to industry experts, Turkey has emerged as one of the most attractive real estate investment destinations in the region, due to its increased gross domestic product (GDP) and strong economic growth.

With an average GDP growth of 3.6 per cent and a 55.6 per cent year-on-year increase in property sales to foreigners in 2014, Turkey has tripled the size of its economy to $813 billion and is now the 16th largest economy in the world.

This year, Turkey will have the largest international presence at the show which runs from April 21 to 23 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, said the organiser Informa Exhibitions.

The GCC and foreign investors too will be out in force to capitalise on the wealth of global investment opportunities at the three-day event, it added.

Wouter Molman, the director of Cityscape Group at Informa Exhibitions, said: "Mirroring the strength and growth currently observed in the market place, we are thrilled to witness the strong presence of Turkish companies on the exhibition floor."

"Turkey is home to a young and fast growing population of 77 million residents, providing a solid foundation for its housing market. Istanbul, in particular, has seen its population expand consistently over the past few years, bringing with it an increased demand for homes within commutable distance to the bustling city," stated Molman.

Senior management from New Life Turkey, a first-time exhibitor, believe that their presence at the event is an absolute must as they witness a rapid growth in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) market.

"In the last 12 months, we’ve started to accommodate the Arab market. Along with the expansion of our office space and our after-sales services, we have appointed a new Arabic-speaking team specifically catering to the needs of the region," remarked Wissam Abou Chahine, the general manager of New Life Turkey.

“Like fellow Turkish real estate developers, we have seen an evolution in the market and increased demand, allowing us to expand to countries like Oman, Tunisia and Algeria. We also plan to launch in Qatar, Kuwait and China in the very near future,” he added.

Continuing its strong international feel, participation from Jordanian exhibitors has also grown, as thousands of visitors, investors and developers from around the world prepare to descend upon the show, said the organiser.

The other key exhibitors are from Cayman Islands, Egypt, Kuwait, Latvia, Nigeria, Portugal, Serbia, Thailand, UK and US, they added.-TradeArabia News Service
