UAE group EM Tech wins key ISO certification

DUBAI, April 26, 2015

Tech Group, a construction conglomerate headquartered in Ajman (UAE) said its mechanical, electrical and plumbing unit EM Tech has been awarded the ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 for implementing quality management systems, demonstrating environmental care and occupational safety.

The company also has operations in the emirates of Sharjah and Dubai.

The ISO 9001:2008 enables a company to demonstrate its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction as well as continuously improving its operations, said a statement from the company.

ISO 14001:2004 provides guidance to organizations for determining environmental issues and aspects associated with their activities in order to manage them most effectively.

OHSAS 18001:2007 ensures that a company’s commitment to a safe working environment and to protecting employees against injury at work is in place, it added.

Commenting on the success, CEO Shiraz Hasan said: "Construction is our main business, that is why we have been extremely conscious of the fact that environment and employee-friendly processes and procedures are adopted across our group companies."

"With EM Tech receiving ISO and OHSAS certifications, it just enhances the group’s commitment to applying quality management systems along with robust safety and security procedures," he added.

EM Tech becomes the fifth company under Tech Group to become ISO and OHSAS-certified. The others who have already won the ISO, IFC and OHSAS certifications are Block Tech, ReMix Tech, SteelFab Tech and Wood Tech.-TradeArabia News Service
