The Northern Town Al Madina Al Shamaliya will have the capacity to accommodate 90,000 people, said a report in our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.

The mega development and residential project will include 15,600 units once completed, according to Housing Minister bassem Al Hamer.

Responding to a parliamentary query, Al Hamer said that 530 units have already been constructed.

The second phase which includes 316 housing units is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2016, he pointed out.

Work will also start on the third phase, which includes 577 housing units within the second quarter of this year, the minister added.-TradeArabia News Service
