Coloured solar panels in focus at Dubai building show

DUBAI, May 11, 2015

Emirates Insolaire, a joint venture of Dubai Investments (DI) and SwissInso Holding, is highlighting its coloured solar panel Kromatix technology to enhance the design appeal of skyscraper façades at an ongoing show in Dubai, UAE.

The second annual Smart Skyscrapers Summit opened today (May 11) at the Sofitel The Palm Resort and Spa, Dubai.

Emirates Insolaire’s coloured and sustainable solar panels, breakthrough photovoltaic modules and solar thermal collectors can be adapted to any façade and roof in any skyscrapers and offer cost-effective and sustainable customisation, and these are being showcased at the summit.

The highly-sustainable solar panels not only cut down on greenhouse gas emissions but also considerably reduce utility bills. The company expects sales in excess of 50,000 sq m for coloured solar panels in 2015. Each coloured solar panel can generate above 150 watts electric power per sq m on rooftops, or above 110 watts per sq m on façades.

At the summit, Rafic Hanbali, managing partner of Emirates Insolaire, is speaking on the need for integrating aesthetic, coloured solar panels in buildings, as also building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) and building integrated solar thermal (BIST) applications using Emirates Insolaire glass panels.

Globally, the photovoltaic market has grown 40 per cent year-on-year and the number of installations foreseen for 2015 is 160 GW – approximately 800 million sq m of glass. The share of BIPV for rooftops and facades, one of the specialisations of Emirates Insolaire, is witnessing one of the fastest growth rates.

Emirates Insolaire solar panels have revolutionised the industry, as they can be easily integrated in natural colours, a statement said.

The company has already produced and installed its first façades in Europe. Emirates Insolaire continues to receive enquiries for its coloured solar panels from the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Bahrain, Lebanon, as well as from Europe, Asia, the US, and Brazil, among others.

The two-day summit, being held under the patronage of Dubai Municipality, has brought together more than 300 participants and highlights the latest advancements in design, technology and solutions in modern skyscraper developments. – TradeArabia News Service
