Tebodin wins Oman Refineries consultancy deal

MUSCAT, June 10, 2015

Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Company (ORPC) has awarded a major project management consultancy contract to Netherland-based Tebodin for its joint venture project, Orpic Logistics, in the sultanate.

Orpic is one of Oman’s largest companies and is one of the most rapidly growing businesses in the Middle East’s oil industry. It is a joint venture between ORPC, Aromatics Oman (AOL) and Oman Polypropylene (OPP).

As per the deal, Tebodin & Partner will provide project management, construction supervision, detailed design review, quality, schedule and budget control services of the EPC contract for the Oman project.

The development includes a new refined products tank terminal with 14 tanks near Muscat International Airport.

The highlights of the project are a 225-km-long 18-inch multi-product pipeline between the refinery in Sohar and the new terminal besides a 10-inch multi-product pipeline from the Orpic refinery in Muscat to the new terminal spread over 50 km area and a dedicated 10-inch jet-fuel pipeline between the new tank farm and the airport plus all related facilities, said the statement.

The job is expected to take more than 30 months and an estimated 100,000 man-hours, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
