Rusayl Industrial Park ... has undergone seven phases of expansion.

Oman’s NEO to design industrial park revamp

MUSCAT, August 17, 2015

National Engineering Office (NEO), a leading consultancy in Oman, has been picked by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) to design the overhaul of the industrial park in Muscat, the sultanate’s capital, a  report said.

Rusayl Industrial Estate has undergone up to seven phases of expansion in step with the growth of Oman’s industrial and manufacturing sector, added the Oman Observer report.

NEO will carry out a comprehensive survey of the existing infrastructure and service utilities covering the 220-hectare industrial park to study the road networks, car parks, entrances and exits, potable and fire water systems, electrical networks, storm water systems, irrigation and landscaping, gas and telecommunications networks, and sewage systems, the report said.

It will recommend improvements to infrastructure and facilities, prepare final designs and cost estimates and provide construction supervision services during the implementation phase.

Spread over an area of 700 hectares, of which 220 hectares have been fully developed, Rusayl Industrial Estate is home to nearly 140 factories set up with a capital investment aggregating around $900 million, according to the report.
