A satellite campus of Bahrain University earmarked on land near King Hamad University Hospital in Muharraq could open as early as 2018.

This was revealed by Muharraq Municipal Council chairman Mohammed Al Sinan, who said that designs for the new campus were “ready” despite funds for its construction apparently not being allocated yet.

Proposals to open a new campus in Muharraq were first put forward by the council in 2012 and in April the plans won parliamentary approval, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
