Chinese investments in Dubai hit new high

DUBAI, October 22, 2015

Chinese investments in Dubai's real estate sector have soared to 2.76 billion yuan ($431 million) within eight months thus reflecting a positive sentiment of business practice in the emirate, said a property expert citing official data.

More than 4,000 Chinese enterprises are operating in Dubai in various sectors.

Chinese investors came in sixth position in term of total investment value during the eight-month period, according to data released by the Dubai Land Department.

The over seas real estate investment scenario in Dubai was dominated by Indians who pumped in $3.62 billion followed by the Britishers ($2 billion), Iranians ($718 million), Canadians ($687 million) and Russians ($484 million), stated the data.

The Chinese investment in Dubai's rela estate, had last year surged to 2.24 billion yuan ($350 million), constituting more than 300 per cent rise compared to the same period in 2013.

Ziad El Chaar, the managing director of Damac Properties said: "This transcending trend of investments from Chinese individual investors and companies reflects a positive sentiment of business practice in the prosper city of Dubai."

The real estate sector, he stated, was one of the best business fields illustrating the lucrative return on investment, with rental yields reaching between six and eight per cent which boosts the interest of every person looking for high return on investment driven from a foreign property, within a tax free environment.

"The volume of real estate transactions recorded in the first eight months of 2015 reaching $23.3 billion, as announced by the Dubai Land Department, is another proof of the growing appetite of investing in the properties sector," said El Chaar.

The government of Dubai has regulated the real estate sector and issued several laws protecting the interest of investors which is known now as one of the best regulated real estate markets in the world.

In addition to this, the safe environment for living and doing business, is attracting entrepreneurs as well as established multinational companies to the emirate, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
