Manara's industrial city project work on track

Manara, a leading Bahrain-based real estate development company, aims to complete the infrastructure works for the first phase of its industrial city - Investment Gateway - Bahrain - project within the next six months, said a top official.

A multi-million-dinar industrial city, Investment Gateway - Bahrain will come up on a 600,000-sq-m area off the coast of Hidd. On completion, it will house several light industrial projects, a business park, showrooms, warehouses and assembly units.

Being situated between Bahrain International Airport and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman Port, and within close proximity to Mina Salman, and other industrial locations, has given the project a unique meeting point for the kingdom’s most prominent commercial institutions ranging from wholesale, to retail, to light industry, in addition to automotive trading amongst various business activities.

British specialist Aecom has designed the infrastructure plan for the project.

"The work is going according to the time plan, which was developed and agreed upon with the contractors, stated Dr Hasan Al Bastaki, the managing director of Manara Developments.
 
"On completion, the infrastructure will provide the first phase of the project a wide possibilities and greater flexibility, and will show the true capacity of the project, which was in great demand to investors," he stated.

Al Bastaki pointed out that the works on paving the roads, extending the sewerage network and installation of most of the light poles, is on track strongly and consistently.

"We are now seeing the features of this stage has been integrated, to indicate the final stages of infrastructure operations over the next three months," he added.

On the electricity sub-stations, Dr. Al Bastaki said: "A total of 29 stations will be completed in April for scheduled handover to the Electricity and Water Authority. Currently, work is underway on the main station to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year."

Already a number of major establishments in the kingdom have chosen the Investment Gateway – Bahrain for their business. These include Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo, Yousif Khalil Al Moayyed & Sons, Montreal Motors, Trafco Group, Ceramica Delmon and Bahrain Limo, in addition to Ramez Stores, Yoko Marine Construction, Mohammed Ali Zainal Co. (Maza) and other major establishments with a multiplicity of business activities in the kingdom.

Dr Al Bastaki said the project had already been showcased in Cityscape - Dubai and Bahrain International Real Estate Exhibition (BIPEX) last year and has won great admiration from investors across the region.

"The remarkable interest enjoyed by this project assured us the possibility to develop other phases of the project. We have got tremendous feedback from a large segment of investors and interested owners," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
