Hundreds ‘living in dangerous homes’ in Bahrain

Hundreds of Bahraini families are living in fear of their homes collapsing on top of them as no renovation work was carried out by the government last year, a report said.

Councillors in the Southern Governorate have raised concerns that the houses, which they described as dangerous, were being neglected for more than a year despite the allocation of a BD2 million ($5.28 million) fund to carry out renovation work under a scheme by the Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Ministry, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
