KAEC completes new residential complex for workers

RIYADH, February 29, 2016

King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), a special economic zone on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, has announced the completion of Phase One of The Village, an integrated housing complex for employees and supervisors working at its Industrial Valley development.

The Village at KAEC Industrial Valley, which boasts a wide range of recreational facilities and services, has set new benchmark for workers’ accommodation, said a statement from the company.

KAEC has created a range of flexible pricing packages to address each employer’s need. Accommodation can be leased by room, by floor or by building, according to specific workforce requirements.

The Village also features a dedicated medical facility for its tenants, operated by renowned Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, supported by KAEC’s Family Care Clinic and the Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital in Jeddah for more serious cases.

This is part of a city-wide expansion in healthcare to increase the scope of services for resident populations and surrounding communities. It includes preventative, diagnostic and management care for various diseases and indications, said a top official.

"We are committed to providing residential accommodation for all income levels. The Village is an exemplary model of modern housing that sets a new high in standards of accommodation, offering an enriching quality of life for workers and supervisors," remarked Fahd Al Rasheed, the Group CEO and managing director of KAEC.

"By raising the standard of housing for workers, we are raising the quality of life for everyone, which is a fundamental value of KAEC," stated Al Rasheed.

"The opening of Phase One of The Village represents another step forward in the rapid progress we are making towards realising the vision of King Abdullah Economic City as one of the world’s most advanced new cities," he added.

Charles Biele, the chief executive of Real Estate Development Company (Redco) at KAEC, said: "With its modern, purpose-built accommodation meeting all the service needs of senior and regular workers and set in a clean, safe and contemporary environment, The Village is a direct and affordable solution for employers and will become the benchmark for staff accommodation throughout the kingdom."

The Industrial Valley at KAEC has attracted more than 100 national and international companies from the industrial and logistic sectors and many have already begun operating.

The Industrial Valley enjoys a strategic location connected by a fully integrated network of roads and transportation services, and a direct link to King Abdullah Port.

Rayan Qutub, the chief executive of the Industrial Valley at KAEC, said: "The Village is part of the holistic housing solution offered by the Industrial Valley, that enables investors to achieve productivity and sustainable growth, and offers the right environment for creativity."

"The Village complements the services offered by the Industrial Valley, and reduces investment costs, by providing a fully integrated range of developed land ready to handover, all supported by world-class infrastructure," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
