Acwa to bid on Noor Midelt solar project in Morocco

RABAT, March 10, 2016

Saudi Arabia-based Acwa Power is aiming to bid for the tender to construct the Noor Midelt solar power complex in Morocco, a report said.

“Our development team has been working on an offer for this project,” Badis Derradji, the manager for Acwa power projects in Morocco was quoted as saying by Morocco World News, which cited L’Economiste.

The investment in Noor Midelt is estimated to be MAD1.8 billion ($182 million), the report said.

The project will use a form of hybrid technology to combine concentrated solar power (CSP) with photovoltaics (PV), the report said.

It is expected to produce 400 MW of energy after all phases have been developed, according to the report.
