DOHA, April 3, 2016

Leading global law firm Dentons recently organised its second annual gathering in Doha, Qatar, for construction sector practitioners in collaboration with the Association of Corporate Counsel Middle East (ACCME).

The Dentons' 2016 Construction Essentials series focused on sharing valuable market insights for practitioners navigating construction projects in Qatar.

Industry experts discussed several key topics including ways to handle common issues which arise during construction projects.

Dentons partner Zaher Nammour and associate Sarah Stewart explored topics relating to variations, delay and extensions of time, damages, suspension and termination.

Andrew Jones, partner and head of construction in the Middle East, at Dentons, said: "Understanding contractual provisions in the context of Qatar law helps industry practitioners to find practical solutions to the issues that arise on construction projects."

"Our Construction Essentials series provides a platform for practitioners to consider the key challenges facing the local construction industry," stated Jones.

Dentons' top-rated Middle East construction and dispute resolution team has an in-depth understanding of the nuances of each local market, stemming from more than 50 years of experience advising on major projects in the region.

The team advises across the full industry spectrum from initial entry and establishment for foreign bidders, licensing, procurement planning, contract negotiation and drafting to strategic advice during construction, claims settlement and dispute resolution, said Jones.-TradeArabia News Service
