KAEC awards key infrastructure contracts

RIYADH, April 25, 2016

Saudi-based Rezaik Abdallah Al Gedrawi Company has been awarded infrastructure contracts worth SR315 million ($84 million) for two major residential projects coming up at the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC).

Located on the west coast of Saudi Arabia, the KAEC is the largest privately-developed city in the world (approximately the size of Washington, DC) offering a fully integrated environment to work, live and play, connected by a major port and national road and rail networks.

As per the first contract worth SR235 million ($63 million), Rezaik Abdallah Al Gedrawi will develop  infrastructure and landscape works for the fourth and fifth phase of the Al-Talah Gardens project.

Located at the heart of KAEC’s coastal communities, it is poised to become one of the most popular of the city’s residential areas, said a statement from KAEC.

Al Talah Gardens is spread over an area of 1.1 million sq m, and is serviced with infrastructure and amenities, including water networks, sewage systems, telecommunication network, safety, security, drainage network, electricity and lighting.

The district overlooks two main roads; it offers a crescent park stretching across a length of 1 km in the heart of Al Talah Gardens district. The park also features walking and bicycle paths, which meander through a naturally-shaded garden landscape, and connects people directly to the neighbourhood centre, it added.

The other contracts worth SR80 million ($21 million) will see Rezaik Abdallah Al Gedrawi ready infrastructure for the Golf Course Communities 3 and 4 at Al Murooj district in KAEC.

An excellent balance of well-appointed villas and townhouses for families, Al Murooj offers luxury lifestyle in an upscale and family-friendly environment, said KAEC in its statement.

The district’s luxurious, private neighbourhoods and lush landscaping make it one of the most desirable residential communities in Saudi Arabia, stated the developer.

The Al-Murooj district also enjoys a pristine setting along the Red Sea and its expansive 4.6-million-sq-m area provides the opportunity to create a unique amenity-rich lifestyle environment for residents to relax and enjoy life, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
