Allegion signs up for smart skyscrapers conference
DUBAI, April 30, 2016
Allegion, a leader in security products and solutions for homes and businesses, has signed up as a gold sponsor for the Smart Skyscrapers Summit to be held from May 16 to 17 in Dubai, UAE.
The event is being held under the patronage of Dubai Municipality and is supported by Dubai Supreme Council of Energy.
The first day of the summit will see Allegion emphasize safety in a presentation titled ‘Fire, Life Safety & Accessibility Codes with a special focus on the International Building Codes’.
This topic is especially relevant given the recent cases of fires in high-rise buildings in Dubai, and will be delivered by Arun C. Prabhu, Allegion Architectural Consultant, outlining the importance of building and life safety codes that safeguard the welfare of building occupants.
On the summit's significance, Jeff Bennett, the commercial leader for Allegion (Middle East, Africa and Turkey), said: "It will give us a great opportunity to learn more about new technologies, products and services in the construction industry. At the same time, our team of experts will meet, network and share their experiences with leaders across this important market."
"With our own innovative solutions, we are working to make UAE and the MEA region more safe and secure," he added.
Allegion’s sponsorship shows the company aligns with the summit’s overarching theme to focus on the future potential, design, safety standards and structural innovations of skyscrapers in the region, with references to real-world examples from across the globe, said the organisers.
Over two days, the summit will feature a number of knowledge-sharing sessions and networking opportunities for over 400 senior delegates representing designers, engineers, urban planners and sustainability consultants based across the GCC region, they stated.
Welcoming the sponsorship of Allegion, Brad Hariharan, the regional director, Expotrade Middle East, said: "Incorporating fire safety best-practices with skyscraper design is one of the key topics in this year’s summit agenda and is aligned with Allegion’s commitment as a leader in providing security products and solutions."
A major regional player, Allegion produces a range of solutions for homes, businesses, schools and other institutions.
"We look forward to a long term and fruitful engagement with them," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
