Wilro announces Mideast launch of glulam

DUBAI, May 12, 2016

Wilro International, a company specialised in engineered wood, showcased its Glulam (glued laminated timber) at the Dubai Airport Show which concluded yesterday (May 11).

The company, residing on the Bond Group stand, displayed the sustainable construction material for the first time in the Middle East region.

A specialist in engineered wood, such as Glulam and CLT (cross laminated timber), Wilro is betting on the UAE’s sustainable initiatives in adopting green construction methods, by converting to renewable building materials especially in projects that require large span structures, such as new airport builds, amongst others.

“Glulam is used in building structures and is here to replace steel,” remarked William Mobayed, the country manager of Wilro International.

“Glulam is nature’s best construction material, as it only requires managed forests and sunlight to produce. Using more and more steel and concrete in construction, as a non renewable resource, is costing the human race huge amounts of energy and carbon footprints,” noted Mobayed.

“It is our duty and our social responsibility, to contribute towards the reduction of the Earth's carbon footprint, for which the construction industry is mostly responsible for, and that is a task we have undertaken, to save our future generations and our planet,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
