Thomas & Adamson boosts Mideast operations

DUBAI, May 19, 2016

UAE's construction and property consultancy Thomas & Adamson has strengthened the Middle East practice with the addition of a senior project manager, Gareth Nixon, to its Dubai office.

This follows the promotion of Zander Muego to the group board, a move that further integrates the UAE business unit with the long-established UK operation, said a statement from the company.

Nixon (33) has over a decade of project experience working across building, civil, structural and fit-out sectors. He has spent time in the Middle East, UK, and New Zealand, working for some leading construction companies, including Balfour Beatty, Robert McAlpine Ltd and Fletcher.

His previous position saw him working within DMCC’s Head Office and included project management of various fit-out works throughout JLT.

On the appointment, Muego, said: "Despite more challenging market conditions, we are continuing to secure new projects, both in the form of new and repeat business. Nixon has been brought in to strengthen our Dubai team and add further depth to our Dubai project management offering."

"Following an intensive selection process, Nixon stood out as the candidate best aligned with the culture of our business. He has a combination of strong interpersonal and leadership skills and a commitment to service quality - values closely aligned with the ethos of Thomas & Adamson," he added.

Nixon said: "This move to a smaller, more people-focused consultancy also provides the opportunity to grow professionally in being part of the team building the fast-growing Dubai office in the UAE."

"I will be able to maintain and use my core management abilities while also being involved more in business development. Having worked four years in the Middle East within the construction sector I understand the opportunities and challenges projects must overcome here to be successful," he added.
