Qatar opens new F-Ring Road bridge

DOHA, July 5, 2016

Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) yesterday opened a new bridge in a bid to ease traffic coming from Hamad International Airport and Al Wakra towards the capital Doha.

The new bridge extends from the F-Ring Road to Mesaimeer Road providing a direct and free-flow traffic to Bu Hamour, Al Maamoura and Salwa Road, said a statement from Ashghal.

Additionally, two temporary extra lanes will be available to enable vehicles making a U-turn onto the F-Ring Road under the bridge to reach Barwa Village, the Religious Complex, Al Wakra and the Industrial Area through using the new service road which is approximately 1 km long, it stated.

This is in addition to providing two lanes to make a U-turn under the bridge in front of Al Jazeera Academy, enabling access to this area through the service road.

According to Ashgal, the closed exits of Rawdat Al Khalfat, Rawdat Al Dabdaba, Al Kharija Street and Al Rabyat Street will be opened soon.

The bridge and F-Ring Road together will provide a 14-km free-flow highway without any traffic signals, which will enhance traffic movement and provide easy access to and from vital areas such as Hamad International Airport, Salwa Road, Bu Hamour, Al Maamoura and Al Thumama, it added.-TradeArabia New Service
