RTA completes Dubai internal roads works

DUBAI, July 19, 2016

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the successful completion of the construction work on the internal roads at Al Barsha South 2 in Dubai, UAE.

The scope of work included building of 16-km-long road, completing the infrastructural works such as rainwater drainage network, revamping electricity, water and irrigation grids, and the setting up of LED lighting technology in street lights.

RTA had accomplished Phase I of Internal Roads Construction project at Al Barsha South covering an expanse of 60 km, comprising internal roads extending 49 km, and main roads extending 11 km.

The project also included improvements of the existing roads, installation of a new light signal on the intersection of Street E136 and Street D11, and using LED technology for streetlights besides undertaking rainwater drainage works in the area.

Commenting on the project, Nabeel Mohammed Saleh, the director of roads, RTA’s Traffic & Roads Agency, said: "The project works included the construction of public parking for residents as well RTA public buses, and using traffic calming devices nearby pedestrian crossings."

"RTA has also modified and activated the traffic signal on the crossing of street B2B1 and Al Barsha South High Street," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
