Bahrain to allocate 3,200 more homes

MANAMA, August 25, 2016

Bahrain's Ministry of Housing will allocate an additional 3,200 units to citizens in the coming months following a directive from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.

The directive was issued during a visit by the Crown Prince to the ministry headquarters in the Diplomatic Area, a BNA report said.

During the visit, the Crown Prince highlighted recent achievements in the housing sector, which included the swift allocation of 3,000 units since the holy month of Ramadan.

He noted that the ministry’s efficient and fast-paced housing drive serves as a model for delivering projects that directly contribute to further improving citizens’ living standards.

The Crown Prince praised the dedication of the ministry and its staff in their efforts to fulfil His Majesty's directive to build over 40,000 housing units across the kingdom in the coming years.

The Crown Prince emphasised the importance of facilitating public-private partnerships, which he said will help provide adequate public services, and boost the kingdom's long-term sustainable development.

Housing Minister Bassim bin Yaqoob Al Hamar expressed his gratitude for the Crown Prince's visit, and reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to fulfilling His Majesty's directives.

Upon his arrival, the Crown Prince was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the housing minister and a number of senior members of the Ministry of Housing.
