Hill secures PM deal for Qatar's Al Wa'ab City

DOHA, December 8, 2016

Hill International, a global leader in managing construction risk, said it has won a QR14.6-million ($4 million) contract to provide project management services for the first phase of the Central District development at Al Wa'ab City in Qatar.

One of the largest privately-held real estate projects being developed in the country, Al Wa'ab City is spread over a sprawling 1.25 million sq m area.

With a true sense of place, combining an authentic Arabian feel with modernity, it incorporates a diverse residential mix of over 2,000 villas and apartments, more than 200,000 sq m of commercial space and over 100,000 sq m of retail space, including a one-of-a-kind concept mall.

Promoted by Nasser Bin Khaled Holding, Al Wa'ab city will eventually be home to over 8,000 people, offering a safe and wellmaintained environment and creating a new lifestyle proposition for the Al Wa'ab area as well as the greater Doha metropolis.

The three-year contract will see Hill implement its key services at The Central District.

The 400,000-sq-m facility will consist of a 1.4-km walk-through spine with retail, residential buildings concentrated at the eastern and western ends, a commercial building at the southwest corner, a four-star hotel at its center, and a parking sub-basement.

"Al Wa'ab City will offer existing and new Doha residents outstanding living accommodations," said Mohammed Al Rais, the regional president (Middle East) for Hill's Project Management Group.

"We are extremely proud to be part of this impressive development," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
