SNC-Lavalin wins Saudi Aramco contract extension

RIYADH, January 14, 2017

SNC-Lavalin, a leading engineering and construction group in the world, said its engineering consultancy venture in partnership with Dr Zuhair Fayez, has been awarded a five-year extension by state oil giant Saudi Aramco to its existing general engineering services plus (GES+) contract with three one-year options to extend.

The SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering (SLFE) has completed over 200 projects under the GES+ initiative over the past five years, most of which were competitively bid in-kingdom against other Saudi Aramco qualified GES+ contractors.

These projects were executed out of SLFE’s head offices located in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, said the company in a statement.

Under the contract, SNC-Lavalin will be invited to bid on front-end engineering, detailed engineering and project management services to support the implementation of Saudi Aramco’s capital and sustaining capital programs in the kingdom.

The projects will include onshore oil and gas production and processing facilities, building and infrastructure projects, as well as refining and petrochemical facilities, it stated.

On the contract extension, Martin Adler, the president for oil and gas, SNC-Lavalin, said: "We are honoured to have this opportunity to continue our relationship as an approved GES+ contractor, and contribute to the kingdom’s program to increase local expertise and employment."

Saudi Aramco, he stated, has been its valued client for over 20 years.

"We are very proud of the confidence Saudi Aramco has shown in our technical expertise, systems and project management capability, and we are looking forward to continuing our collaboration under this new long-term agreement to help Saudi Aramco achieve the objectives set out under the GES+ contract," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
