Acwa Group names new Mideast sales head

DUBAI, February 14, 2017

Acwa Emirates, a part of leading international water and wastewater solutions provider Acwa Group, has appointed Fadey Kassim as the chief officer of corporate sales and strategy to drive growth in the Middle East markets primarily in the municipal and industrial water reuse sector.

Kassim brings with him over 18 years’ water industry experience covering engineering, business development, utility planning and major project delivery across a range of globally diverse locations.

He was previously chief operating officer at Aqualyng, a specialist in desalination and wastewater solutions.

His immediate focus will be on consolidating market opportunities for Acwa’s tried-and-tested solutions for water quality, wastewater and in particular water reuse, an increasing issue for municipal and industrial organisations across the Middle East and globally, said a statement from Acwa Emirates.

Central to this is the company’s market-leading membrane bio-reactor (MBR) solution Memtreat, now deployed in over 45 sites, including one of the world’s largest MBR treatment plants at Al Ansab in Oman.

Kassim will also be offering a portfolio of conventional and advanced technologies for air, water, wastewater and sludge treatment solutions, for both the municipal, industrial and oil and gas sectors, it stated.

This includes major EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) and concession projects inclusive of funding and equity partners for water industry projects in Asia, combined with wide business experience in Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and other emerging markets.

Prior to Aqualyng, Kassim served as client representative for Palm Water in Dubai managing the development of a range of water infrastructure projects on the Palm Jumeirah archipelago in Dubai, UAE.

Gary Jackson, the managing director of Acwa Group said: "Kassim is an excellent fit for Acwa Emirates and we are delighted that he is on board."

"With an immediate focus on the highly competitive and challenging Middle East market, his experience in the region, in particular with Palm Jumeirah, where Acwa has also delivered essential desalination and sewage treatment projects, together with his drive and passion for the industry will be invaluable," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
