DUBAI, May 11, 2017

RSG International, a property developer based in the UAE, has signed a second management agreement with hospitality group Rotana for a new four-star hotel in Dubai, at a prime location on Sheikh Zayed Road, Jebel Ali Central, next to UAE Exchange Metro Station.

The project follows the launch of the Sabah Rotana hotel in Dubai in March 2017, and gives a further boost to the company’s plans to augment its hospitality portfolio in the emirate ahead of Expo 2020.

Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, the 54-storey, 533-room Sabah Rotana includes 210 spacious, well-appointed rooms in addition to 10 executive suites and two ultra-luxurious presidential suites. The hotel apartments, meanwhile, include 260 one-bedroom and 52 two-bedroom apartments. Sabah Rotana also features an impressive array of food and beverage venues and world-class business and recreational facilities.

The new Rotana hotel on Sheikh Zayed road, rising up 40 floors, will also have a well-balanced mix of hotel rooms and hotel apartments. In total, the new property will feature 180 spacious rooms and 10 luxuriously appointed executive suites in addition to 300 hotel apartments, including 40 studio apartments, 240 one bedroom apartments and 20 two bedroom apartments.

Guests can look forward to enjoying a variety of cuisines at the hotel’s exclusive restaurants, and also take advantage of a superb range of amenities that include three fully equipped meeting rooms, an executive lounge, and a state-of-the-art Bodylines Fitness & Wellness Club that will include a gymnasium, swimming pool and wellness lounge.

Dubai is on the brink of hosting 25 million visitors for Expo 2020, which is estimated to be the biggest event in the region’s history. RSG seeks to give its hospitality portfolio a big boost by harnessing the demand created by this event in collaboration with Rotana.

The agreement for the new hotel was signed between Nasser Al Nowais, chairman of Rotana, and Raj Sahni, owner and chairman of RSG International, at a ceremony held at Amwaj Rotana in Dubai.

Sahni said: “RSG International has grown to become a dependable and credible name in UAE’s property development market, and our alliance with Rotana on this distinguished new project will help us to enlarge our presence in the fast-growing hospitality segment. We are proud to delegate management of one of our noteworthy projects to Rotana, one of this region’s best hotel management companies. Our growth plans are in strategic sync with the vision that our leaders see us growing towards and we consistently strive to flourish together.”

“This is just one of the many potential projects that we have lined up keeping the Expo 2020 in mind. With the accommodation and hotel room demand on the rise already, property development definitely has our focus at the moment. RSG is known for delivering its projects on or before schedule, and we will live up to our reputation.” Abu Sabah added.

“We are delighted to sign this new agreement which consolidates our relationship with RSG International and further expands and diversifies Rotana’s footprint in the region,” Al Nowais said.

“Rotana has a robust development pipeline in Dubai, with a clutch of new hotels scheduled to open in the city before the end of 2020. Hospitality demand in Dubai is expected to peak around Expo 2020, and Rotana is moving fast to fill the city’s need for additional hotel room supply and meet the anticipated surge in demand. We have made a conscious effort to ensure that our upcoming properties in the emirate represent a judicious mix of upscale and mid-market hotels, in order to bring greater choice to visitors and support the government’s push to diversify Dubai’s hospitality offerings to attract a wider range of visitors.”

Rotana will open eight new hotels in Dubai by 2020, which will have a combined a managed investment of more than $850 million. The new properties will add 2,668 keys to Rotana’s existing inventory in Dubai, taking the total room count to 6,151, while expanding its portfolio in the emirate to 21 hotels.

Jasjit Singh Jaaj, Group CEO of RSG International, said: “Dubai's hospitality industry has experienced a huge surge in the past decade with travellers from all over the globe flocking the emirate, and it is only expected to grow exponentially. It is our endeavour to align our vision with that of the Ruler of Dubai. This agreement with Rotana is a great opportunity for us to expand our hospitality portfolio and it has definitely come at a great time for RSG.”

Commenting on this announcement, Omer Kaddouri, president and CEO of Rotana, said: “Dubai is preparing to host 25 million visitors for Expo 2020, scheduled to be the biggest event in the region’s history. The emirate is estimated to require an additional 45,000 hotel rooms to meet anticipated demand during the six-month-long exhibition. Rotana, through its aggressive focus on building up its hospitality portfolio in Dubai, is looking to cater to this demand by bringing a diverse mix of hotel projects to life in time for the event." - TradeArabia News Service
