Dewa to build $62m office building complex

DUBAI, July 1, 2017

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said it has awarded a Dh226.5-million ($62 million) contract for the construction of a complex for its power distribution unit in the Al Ruwaiyah area of the emirate.
 
The scope of work includes the construction of a five-floor office building with basement and a multi-storey car-park, mosque and accommodation for the imam besides stores, field offices, staff accommodation, and a parking lot for heavy machinery, said the statement from Dewa.
 
The total building area is about 949,330 sq ft, while the construction area of the administrative building and multi-storey car-park is 845,305 sq ft, it stated.
 
"We are moving ahead with our development projects to provide the necessary electricity and water resources to meet the growing needs of the emirate," remarked Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the managing director and chief executive of Dewa.
 
"Dewa is building more centres to ensure the quality of services provided to all stakeholders, and to achieve its vision to become a sustainable innovative world-class utility," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
