UAE housing scheme signs $272m deals for Ajman complex

DUBAI, August 22, 2017

The UAE's Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has signed two contracts worth Dh1 billion ($272 million) for construction and maintenance of the Al Montazi Residential Complex in Ajman.

The contracts, with the China State Construction Engineering Company Middle East (CSCME) and Dabco Construction, were signed by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development and chairman of the board of directors of the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, said a Wam news agency report.

The signing of the contracts was held at the headquarters of the programme in Dubai.

The contracts state that the allocated land will be fully settled and coordination will soon begin with local authorities to begin the launch of the project, the largest of its kind in Ajman.

The Al Montazi Residential Complex is located in the Mohamed bin Zayed Region of the UAE emirate between Sheikh Zayed Street and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Street and covers an area of 954,528,693 sq m. The project will meet global sustainability criteria and environmental standards, the report said.

The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme applies the Estidama and Pearl Standards to all its residential projects.

Potential buyers in the Al Montazi Residential Complex can reserve their units through the Sheikh Zayed Complexes Smart System, which features virtual tours with the possibility of reserving separate units, as well as viewing every unit in the complex and finding information about its living space, room numbers and facilities.

UAE nationals requesting housing support can also apply for government-subsidised housing in one of the programme’s residential complexes, by filling in the required form on the programme’s website or at the customer happiness centre at its headquarters in Dubai, or in the Northern and Eastern regions, the report said.
