Artar to use new fire-proof cladding for UAE project

DUBAI, September 11, 2017

A newly-developed form of cladding that offers fire-resistance up to temperatures of 1200ºC is being used for the first time in the construction of a residential tower in Dubai, said a leading UAE-based developer on the opening day of Cityscape Global expo in Dubai, UAE, today.

Developed in Spain and made from extruded porcelain, it has been specified by Artar Real Estate Development for the 36-storey Mada Residences building rapidly taking shape at the heart of Dubai’s Downtown district.

Artar, which is on course to complete Mada Residences on time in the second quarter, 2018, believes the new cladding will become a common site across the Emirates.

The company said it decided to the use the new cladding after inspecting its fire resistant qualities at the manufacturing facility in Spain. The insulation powers of the new cladding panels also reduce AC consumption in the summer to produce energy savings of up to 30 per cent, it added.

On the new technology, Chief operating officer Okbah Abdulkarim said: "Mada Residences will be the first residential tower in Dubai to use it, but we expect many more developers to introduce the technology."

Backed by 50 years of regional experience, the UAE developer is using Cityscape to spotlight the Signature Collection of nine elite 4-bedroom apartments at Mada Residences which is a one-minute walk away from the new Dubai Mall extension.

"With spacious layouts ranging from 2,852 sq ft to 3,234 sq ft, the luxury residences come with Bianco Venus marble floors, generous European designed kitchens and some of the largest terraces in the Downtown district," explained Abdulkarim.

Views from the terrace areas - two measuring 9,530 sq ft - highlight the appeal of homes desired by astute investors and end users, with a huge range of Downtown dining, entertainment, retail and leisure facilities on the doorstep.

"Mada Residences offers the only two-bedroom apartments with maid’s rooms in Downtown. The Signature Collection of apartments boast stylish marble and mosaic finishes, walk-in showers and high end free standing bathtubs," stated Abdulkarim.

Structure work was completed two months ahead of schedule and a fully furnished 23rd floor show apartment is now open, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
