Zaha Hadid's Dubai marvel set for January 15 launch

DUBAI, January 3, 2018

The Opus, a mixed-use development designed by late British-Iraqi architect Dame Zaha Hadid, is set to open its doors on January 15.

The building, made up of two glass towers connected by a ground-floor podium and a glass and steel bridge, is developed by leading Dubai developer Omniyat Properties, and includes over 56,000 sq ft of office space, a club, several restaurants and a hotel, ME Dubai.

Located in the heart of the upcoming Burj Khalifa district in Dubai, The Opus combines a variety of residences and a hotel operated by the leading Spanish hotelier group Melia Hotels International. It is the only hotel project designed personally by Zaha Hadid.

Lauding the project, Omniyat said with an organic void right at the heart of the building, it is an architectural wonder with engineering at its most impressive.

Opus’s collection of residences integrates futuristically stylish interiors with a home-away-from-home sensibility. Every apartment is completed in great detail and represents the pinnacle of design feeling, said the company in a statement.

Every resident is able to benefit from its first-class services such as ME Hotel’s “lifestyle concierge”, which delivers à la carte or pre-selected services to your personal space, it stated.

Iraqi-born architect Zaha Hadid certainly made her mark in the Middle East before her death last year, and she'll continue carving out a presence for a long time yet, according to Robb Report.

The late famed architect's futuristic design will include a hotel and office space, it stated.

Designed as two separate towers that coalesce into a 300-ft-high cube with a free-flowing curved central void, the Opus will be home to the ME Dubai, offering 93 lavish rooms and suites - including the ultra-luxe Suite ME - as well as 98 serviced apartments on the upper floors, including four penthouses with private roof terraces, said Robb Report.

The hotel’s dramatic lobby lounge and art gallery, vertical café, and reception area will all showcase furniture that was either custom-designed or hand-selected by Hadid, it stated.

The Opus will also include a sprawling 260,000-sq-ft entertainment zone and nightclub, an outdoor swimming pool, a spa, and a rooftop terrace with stunning views of Dubai’s ever-changing skyline, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
