Zak World of Façades conference set to open

DUBAI, March 19, 2018

The fourth edition of the Zak World of Façades, the region’s premier conference on façade design and engineering, starts tomorrow. 
 
The one-day conference has 32 industry leaders speaking on topics such as new paradigms in façade design techniques; technology disruptions in the future; high-performance insulation solutions; natural cladding materials; dynamic glass; and other issues. 
 
Syed Zakir Ahmed, chairman and managing director of Zak conference, said: “We look forward to bringing together architects, façade consultants, main contractors, developers and specifiers from the Middle East, to the region’s premier conference on façade design and engineering. We will have the top minds in the regional sector discussing the latest innovations and challenges in the construction industry pertaining to the building envelope. The event will also showcase various façade solutions changing the face of the industry.”  
 
Case studies will be shared on current, recently finished or under construction projects in the Middle East and other countries.
 
The event will also have two panel discussions. The first one will be on the digital impact on modern façade design and construction by panelists John Kim, design director, AE7; Richard Fenne, principal and studio chair, Woods Bagot; David Daniels, director of architecture, SSH; Armin Buchbinder, head of design, BSBG; and Benjamin Beer, technical director, Meinhardt Façade Technology.
 
Another panel discussion on the façade engineering matrix for desired project delivery targets. Panelists at this discussion include Christopher Owen, associate principal, Aecom; Lindsay Mellum, associate - façades, WSP; Dr Belarmino Cordero, division manager - façades, AESG; Avinash Kumar, associate partner, Godwin Austen Johnson; and Nigel Eckersall, director-design and development, VE Experts.
