Cavendish Maxwell boosts building consultancy team

DUBAI, August 6, 2018

Cavendish Maxwell, a major independent firm of chartered surveyors and property consultants, focusing on property services throughout the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, has appointed Benjamin Walker MRICS as the new associate partner in the project and building consultancy.

He brings with him over 13 years of building surveying and project management experience gained in both the UK and more recently in New Zealand, said a statement from Cavendish Maxwell.

Prior to this, Walker was heading the building consultancy department for the New Zealand arm of a global real estate firm. During his time there, he was instrumental in providing advice to top-tier international clients on some of the largest acquisitions in both New Zealand and Australia.

In his new role, Walker will be responsible for day-to-day management of the project and building consultancy team supporting the head of department, Craig Ross, to further develop the business line.

He will also add extensive international experience and knowledge which will strengthen the capabilities of the team.

Welcoming the appointment, Ross said: "He brings with him a wealth of experience and his skills will be a great asset in our goal of providing the best possible service to clients. It’s an exciting time for Walker to join us as we are finding an increasing demand for our core building surveying services both in the local and international market and will therefore look to establish him as a key leader in the team and also the wider building surveying profession in the Middle East as a qualified RICS APC assessor."

Walker is a specialist in technical due diligence, lifecycle costing, condition surveys, dilapidations and project management of alteration and refurbishment projects.

On the appointment, Walker said: "I'm thrilled to have joined a forward thinking and technologically-advanced company like Cavendish Maxwell which has gone from strength to strength since its establishment in 2008."

"The company has secured some fantastic instructions and been involved with some high-profile projects and I thoroughly look forward to adding value to an already thriving team. Cavendish Maxwell has an excellent reputation in the GCC and I'm excited to be a part of the journey," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
