Al Raid Group, a specialist developer of retail shopping malls and leisure destinations, has laid the foundation stone for Al Araimi Walk, a major shopping, entertainment and touristic destination in Oman being built at an investment of RO112 million ($290 million), said a report.

Located in Al Samahan, Barka region of the sultanate, the 140,000-sq-m Al Araimi Walk will boast a four-star hotel, a business centre, an indoor water park, a large ski circuit and cinema besides virtual reality games besides a closed water park, and an ice town and a kilometer-long walkway.

Work on the project will start soon and is likely to take about 20 months for completion. The project will be ready for opening in November 2020, reported Oman News Agency.

The project boasts a sprawling, tree-lined promenade and a high-tech digital park with gourmet restaurants, stated the ONA report.

It has also beautiful outdoor courtyards and corridors designed to provide a convenient and relaxing atmosphere for shoppers and visitors, it added.
