Johnson Arabia launches new Grove RT550E cranes

DUBAI, September 30, 2020

Johnson Arabia, a leading aerial work platforms company in the GCC region, has introduced a fleet of ten new Grove RT550E cranes to help projects in the oil and gas and other major industries.

Owing to its compact design, higher lifting capabilities and manoeuvrability in tight spaces,  the versatile RT550E crane is ideal for the UAE oil and gas and urban development projects, said a statement from the company.

The Grove RT550E can lift up to 45 tonnes of load, measures only 11.7 m long, is 2.53 m wide with a 6 m footprint and weighs under 29 tonnes; this lends itself to being well under heavy machinery regulations for a lot of the offshore projects, it stated.

As the market condition improve, Johnson Arabia said it has been seeing a trend in the UAE oil and gas sector where there are new exploration efforts to unearth resources for the coming years. This is in spite of the slump in the first quarter of 2020.

According to market research.com, the natural gas has become a key strategic priority, and the UAE is planning a string of new investments to further develop its large sour gas resources and meet rising domestic consumption.

"Based on this and our expertise we have introduced Grove RT550E to help our projects in the oil and gas sector and other industries as well.

"The Grove RT 550E fits our needs for this market perfectly," stated Managing Director Martin Kirby.

“Its compact design, higher lifting capabilities and maneuverability in tight spaces makes it a versatile crane for the UAE market for oil and gas projects and urban development where space is limited,” stated Kirby.

Mark Bedderson who manages the Abu Dhabi office and is an expert in the oil and gas market, said: “There was a serious need for compact machines for offshore projects and our recent purchase of these new Grove RT550E units coupled with our Spider cranes gives us an edge over our competitors."

"We are their one-stop solution providers for projects that needs heavy lifts and have space/weight constraints,” he added.
