Work in full swing at DMCC's Uptown Dubai tower
DUBAI, December 8, 2020
DMCC, one of the world’s leading free zones and government of Dubai authority on commodities trade and enterprise, has announced that its mixed-use development, Uptown Tower, located within Uptown Dubai district, has reached 153 m, with over 32 floors completed.
On completion, Uptown Tower, which is being developed within Phase One of Uptown Dubai district, will stand at 340m, and will feature 188 luxury hotel rooms and suites, exclusive restaurants, extensive conference facilities, Grade A offices, and 229 uniquely designed branded residences.
Guided by a smart and sustainable construction strategy, Uptown Tower will be a Leed Gold Certified Building, and home to a state-of-the-art DMCC Business Hub. The hotel and branded residences fit-out packages have recently been awarded to Interiors International Industries LLC.
According to DMCC, significant progress has been made throughout 2020, with the office zone structure of the tower being completed.
In the next stage of construction, work is transitioning to the completion of the hotel zone structure. Façade work has commenced through to level 14, and fit out works as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works are ongoing across 29 floors, it stated.
Executive Chairman and CEO Ahmed Bin Sulayem said: "As Uptown Tower moves towards completion, DMCC steps closer to bolstering the world-class business hub that we have created here in Dubai."
"Having had over 1750 companies join DMCC throughout 2020, the Uptown Dubai district will continue this growth trajectory by attracting additional businesses, residents, and visitors to Dubai through greater commercial appeal and a range of leading residential and leisure offerings," he added.
Uptown Tower is set to sit at the heart of the Uptown Dubai district – a 24-hour neighbourhood brimming with world-class dining, unique high-end retail outlets, a central entertainment plaza and some of the world’s most desirable hotels and leading businesses.
