Bahrain starts delivery of 5,000 East Hidd residential units

MANAMA, January 12, 2021

Bahrain's Housing Ministry has announced the distribution of 5,000 residential units within Al Qalia neighbourhood in East Hidd region of the kingdom to the beneficiaries in an implementation of the order of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, reported BNA.

The Al Qalia project is distinguished by the design of its units that simulate the Bahraini architectural style and the coastal environment of the Hidd area.

The ministry was keen when preparing designs and detailed plans for the project to be inspired by the details of the main city of Hidd in order to preserve the general character and social fabric which characterises the people of the region, stated the report citing the project director Engineer Mohammed Rashdan.

The procedures for handing over the housing units to citizens were carried out according to a timetable, in coordination between the departments of housing services and projects, he added.

Rashdan said the ministry had made the issue of housing quality a top priority as it receives direct attention from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government led by HRH Prince Salman.

"The Al Qalia neighborhood project received a good response owing to its design, mainly for the interior yards and coastal walkways were provided alongside parks and children's play areas," he added.
